Design Decisions and Inspiration


     I decided on a space setting because I drew inspiration from space shooters. Galaga, among other games, allows you to shoot at enemies to destroy them. I've given this ability to the snake in space. The enemies or red circles are constantly moving in your direction and coming in contact with them could mean death. The more food the snake eats the faster it gets and vice versa if you come in contact with an enemy. The enemies themselves also gain speed as time progresses. Like Galaxy Wars, another game I was inspired by, EXP points are released when an enemy is destroyed. Gather the EXP point to build your level and gather further skills. I wanted to see how it would feel for the snake to gain skills as it progresses. Making it to level 5 for example gives you automatic fire.
